Hi, everyone:
This has been a very slow week for me. I had to go to the doctor and get some serious cough medicine with codeine and an inhaler so I wouldn't keep losing sleep. Going on 2 1/2 weeks with this upper respiratory virus. Anyways, this week I didn't do my 2 mile walking tape, but I did do L1 with weights every day, then rested. I'm doing very well with my water consumption and eating very cleanly. I measure myself tomorrow. I'm hoping that I will break this plateau soon. I'm 4 weeks without any inch loss now. It will by 5 weeks if I don't see any inch loss tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens. Have a good weekend! Donna |

I'm on a plateau right now, too, but I know it will break if I'm just patient. Today, while we were shopping, I just paid attention to how good it felt to be making progress with weight loss. I'm getting very close to my goal now, and I understand that the rate of loss usually slows down then. Anyway, just remember that we all go through those slow times...

Here's the scoop.
When I tried to measure this morning my measuring tape broke! Great way to start the day. I promptly went to Wal-Mart and bought me a new measuring tape. This one is a lot heavier than the one that came in the O! package. Doesn't feel like paper as much. Anyways, this new tape gave me a totally different reading than the other tape did, so now I'm thoroughly confused. Why? Who knows. Maybe because it's made from a different material, who knows. So, anyways, I have to start measuring from scratch again. On a brighter note, I tried on these overalls which have been the bain of my existance for a while. I can now button the sides and they are much looser on the legs. So, I'm definitely making progress, thank GOD! I think I'll be able to reach my goal of wearing these overalls by Christmas time, if I keep working hard. I'm feeling a lot better, too, so this week I'm going to go back to my 2-mile walking tape and try to do it 3 times. Thanks, Susanna for your encouraging words. And to all of you for your support. It's so nice to go on this website and write out your feelings and not feel like anyone's judging you, or will make fun of your fears. Have a nice upcoming week, and GO RED SOX! Donna |

I've tried low-carb diets before. With both pregnancies I had gestational diabetes, so I had to go low carb with insulin shots. For me, personally, I did not feel well cutting down carbs. I was always tired, never felt full, got headaches, etc. I thought that maybe it was the pregnancy that caused these malaises, so I kept going after I had the babies...same thing happened.
So, basically I'm doing this... 5 small meals a day, 2 snacks and 3 meals. Each portion-controlled, so that I don't go for seconds and thirds; Cut out refined sugar; Cut out anything that has "partially hydrogenated" in the label (trans-fats). For me, that was non-dairy creamer, ritz crackers and peanut butter. I now use skim milk in my coffee, fat free premium saltines and natural peanut butter, and; I drink 132 ounces of water a day. For me, this is the best bet. I feel energetic and don't feel deprived. This is not to say that low-carb diets don't work. They do work for some people, just not for me. Thanks for your encouraging words and support! Have a great day! Donna |

I felt alot like you before I started the Phase 1 Diet that I am on...It is more for health then weight loss, but I have lost more weight doing this then anything else and I have tried EVERYTHING. Of course the O....speeds it along too. That is important for your health as well. I lost weight with atkins but I killed myself doing it....you can eat NOTHING good...when you are on that. I agree.
Just some suggestions.....I eat alot of sunflower seeds and cashews...and yogurt with berries...sweetened with Splenda as snacks in between my meals. On Atkins you CAN'T eat nuts until you lose the weight....I found that diet very unsatisfying. With this one...the snacks are good. I LOVE cashews. I think the big difference is that I don't eat all the dairy....cutting out the cheese is HARD, but I feel better not eating all of it. Once in a while I put just a dash of cheese on my salad. Just some suggestions...If you descide you ever wantot try Low-Carb again. Check out that website....you can read the testamonials. I wish you well with your continues weight loss...whatever you descide to do. Take Care...and thanks for your post. "The Lord Is my light and my salvation...Whom shall I fear..???"
