Yet another week with absolutely no change! This is getting frustrating!! But I'll keep plugging away...hopefully this lull will be over soon..as I'm starting to think that this is yet another program that's not going to work for me.

Hello! I totally understand! I was stuck at the same weight/measurements for 3 weeks! I'm a really slow loser anyway, so it did get really irritating! I ended up cutting out some carbs and added the walk videos to boost my weight loss. I really don't get much activity otherwise, so I knew it wouldn't hurt! I did end up losing some weight and a few inches! This week I've just been really motivated and have done extra stuff, too! But you don't have too! Sometimes you might just need a boost! Hang in there!

Thanks, LeeAnn (and Alicia in the other post)! I am going to hang in there. I have to say, while my eating's not terrible, I could stand to cut some carbs and sugar. I do the Aquafit 3 times a week and walk a lot during the day at my job. The reason I was trying Oxycise was because I have a bone spur in each foot, along with plantar fasciitis, which was caused from the Leslie Sansone videos! (Too much repetitive pounding on my feet.) It's so annoying to need to lose weight to make your feet better, but when most activities end up aggravating them, it's a Catch-22! I thought that if I faithfully Oxycised at least once a day and watched my eating, along with my Aquafit classes, I'd start losing at least some inches! But I'm not giving up...will try and make some food adjustments next week!

Hi Laura, I wanted to add that you may want to e-mail Julie at Julie@oxycise.com. She has proven herself to be a big help to people when the losses are not coming. She may have a few hints to try and also may bring out something that you are not doing or that you are doing that could could change (in regards to the breathing). She doesn't mind helping and she is really good at it.
I am glad you are not just giving up. I was stagnant for a while and then I started breathing with more gusto and really pulling in my abs on the lift. That made a big difference. Merritt |

Thanks Merritt! I just may try that! I did get the breathing tips from her at the very beginning and am confident that I'm breathing right and with gusto, but you never know..it may be one little thing I'm doing wrong!

Laura,
befor I started doing the O. this time I hooked up with one of the Body builders from the strongest man compititions. he helped me get my eating under control befor I started doing any exercise at all.. the things he taught me.. well I knew them befor But I NEVER practiced what I knew. so once he got ahold of me.. I went from 241 to 235 before I started the O. and I have noticed since that I am loosing really fast. I am sure that there will be a place were it slowes or stopes. But through him I noticed that my eating was the worst part of it all..... AND I never drank enough water. Now I seem to be floating through every breath.LOL I know that you will be successfull this next week. I will be rootin for you. GOOD LUCK Jennifer Feburary 17th 241#s March 13-2003 W. 231# goal W. 135# Here we go... this outa be a ride! |

Hi and thank you for posting a "disappointing" but honest result. Your post could have been written by me. I feel exactly the same. I've contacted Julie, etc etc. Used the "gusto " approach, changed my eating habits, done "O" at least once a day, and usually more. How can people lose so many pounds and inches in days or even a few weeks??? I guess I'll keep trying but it's hard to keep believing when nothing is happening.

Thanks for the encouragement Jennifer. And Lizbet...hang in there..that's what I'm going to do! I don't understand how others can lose so many inches in a week either! I can understand not losing pounds, as I'm building muscle, but to not lose an inch for over 3 weeks is frustrating!

Wow, this is exactly where I am right now. I was getting ready to post my Week 3 results, and I am disappointed. While I had a great first week--4 lbs lost--Weeks 2 & 3 have been discouraging. No change. And I have yet to lose a fraction of an inch. I was afraid to post b/c I didn't want to discourage anyone, ha ha!
I am starting to be skeptical. Even though some people post before-and-after photos, they must be doing something else, and it can't work THAT fast. I will keep trying, as the breathing makes me feel good in general anyway, whether or not it helps my weight loss. I can feel that my stomach is stronger, and my posture is better. But I even started making dietary changes this week, and still nothing. Hopefully I will soon have another "4-pounder" week. Start date: 22 Feb 03 Start weight: 154 Start size: 16 top, 14 bottom Current weight: 150 Goal weight: 120 Goal size: 10 top, 8 bottom |

That's how I felt too...I didn't want to post, but thought if I did, maybe someone else would come forth and say it's not working for them too. Then maybe those that it does seem to be working for could help a bit. I've carefully read the breathing instructions that Julie sent and have watched the instruction video again this weekend, and know I'm doing it correctly...so I'm not sure what the deal is.

I remeber you saying, Laura, that breathing with gusto is noisy? It is! I do it in the am before anyone is up & it is loud. Sometimes I lax off on the gusto & don't see results. Could it be that?

No...I'm doing it nice and loud! (lol!) So much so that sometimes my throat hurts for a while afterwards!

I would love to help you if there was anything I could do! My guess is that you are doing Oxy just fine. All I can share is what works for me, and what I've been doing is the Change One diet from Reader's Digest; just the guidelines they gave in the January issue. I've read that it's really important that you eat dairy products while you diet. I know they've been saying for years, that you should leave dairy products alone while you diet...which is one reason it was so hard for me to get excited about dieting.
Our oldest son just went on a 7-day juice fast for his health, and says he really felt good, but it was hard to do. He drank nothing but real fruit and vegetable juices and broth for those 7 days, plus water. I don't know...maybe something like that would "jump-start" your metabolism. Anyway, if it would help to send you my diet plan, or whatever, just let me know. I really enjoy reading your posts, and sure don't want you to give up because of lack of results!!! Sincerely, Susanna |

Losing weight is sometimes like tracking the stock market -- lots of ups and downs. But like the stock market, it's the long-range results that really matter.
If you are doing Oxycise! very faithfully and yet not seeing ANY changes, take a good honest look at your eating habits. Any room for improvements in that department? Don't fall into the trap of trying to starve yourself in order to get fast results. Try to adopt healthy eating habits that you can live with. Slow results are good. They are more likely to be permanent. This is why experts recommend losing no more than 1 or 2 pounds per week, on average. There may be many weeks when you don't lose ANY weight.... but chart your progress over a period of time and see if you are moving in the right direction. And don't be totally focused on just weight... remember that a firm, muscular body will weigh a lot more than a body with more fat that is exactly the same size and shape. This is why Jill strongly recommends testing your body fat percentage every month or two, if at all possible. Keep track of inch loss too -- or at least pay attention to how your clothes are fitting. Last of all, do you FEEL better when you do Oxycise? Do you notice a difference when you don't do it? That alone should encourage you to "Keep on Breathin'!" You're ALL awesome. Hang in there!!!
