I purchased Oxycise tapes a few years ago. I pushed them aside, like I pushed the fact that I am overweight aside. I kept praying to God for help and Voila! I believe I was led back to this exercise. I need help. I always start programs then quit in the middle. I need to lose 40lbs. I have recenly been told I have a hole in my heart and for health reasons need to lose weight. But also I have been fighting depression for many years, been on meds and the weight just keeps comin on. I need to get the weight off. Any friends to help would be greatly appreciated. I don't get to talk on the computer everyday, but will always try to check this site as much as I can.
Welcome! I feel that Oxycise can help not only physical problems, but also depression. All that oxygen flowing through the brain seems to help. Join us when you can at "Daily Support and Accountability" in the D2L thread- we look forward to hearing how you are doing.
I, too, suffer from Major Depression. I was diagnosed in 1995, but through therapy have discovered that I actually had it since around the age of 4-6. So, I know what you're talking about. I'm on Prozac, since 1996 and that has been a life saver for me, literally. When I was diagnosed, that's when I started putting on the weight. I gained 140 pounds in 8 years. I have started doing O! on May 13 and have lost 31 inches so far. I also started doing a Leslie Sansone 2-mile walking/strength training tape since Feb 24. All in all, I have lost approximately 70 pounds (weighed myself over the weekend.) I have a long way to go, but O! and exercise in general has helped my depression enormously, and has given me the impetus to keep plugging away. May it do the same for you.
If you need a little extra encouragement during your dark days, please feel free to email me. I'm at donnac3311@netzero.net or on Instant Messenger donna3311. And, keep posting here. This website and the people in it have helped me tremendously. More than they know, actually.
God bless and hang in there. It does gets better!

Recently we spent some time looking through old photos, and I was amazed at how heavy I've been for several years. I thought I wasn't looking so bad...but I'm glad that Oxycise works, and I know I look better now! I just mentioned this because of what you said about pushing aside the fact that you are overweight. 40 pounds is very doable!! Please keep us posted!
