OXYCHAT! *************** July 15, 2005 Welcome to the OxyChat! Newsletter, a publication to help you in your quest for the body you want and deserve! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *A* "It Looks Like You've Lost Weight!" *B* Oxycise! Questions and Comments *C* Super Foods! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When friends and co-workers comment, "It looks like you've lost weight," they are probably seeing the subtle changes that you don't notice on a daily basis; Some improvements--like facial toning, and tighter, more shapely muscles--don't show up on the scales, but these results are real, so when the compliments start coming, enjoy them!!! *** LEANNE *** "I saw one of my co-workers in the break room at work who had been gone on vacation for 10 days. She looked at me and said, "Something's different... have you lost weight?" I told her that I didn't think so, it was probably just my change in hair color. But she looked at me again and said, "Yes, I think you have lost weight." (This is very encouraging, since I just recently started doing Oxycise! again.) *** FLORENCE *** "I am doing just great. I bought new tapes and am doing at least one of them almost every day at least 6 days out of 7. We were at a wedding last week and one of the guests that we have known for about 5 years said, and I quote, Whatever you are doing keep it up. You look great. Unquote. Yes ma'am, tomorrow I will be 80 years old and to date have had a wonderful ride." *** CARMEN *** July 6, 2005 "I have maintained my set point for months and am delighted by the results. During that time remarks have been made to me that I look like I have lost more weight, but not so. I do my exercise and breathing every morning in bed before I get up -- hips, abs, stretching and arms when I arise. I'm down from a 16 size to a 10/12 and look great.... "Oxycise! plus South Beach resulted in fabulous results. I lost 31 lbs but give Oxycise! the credit for holding my set point. And I'm a great grandmother three times. Love my results and I'm healthy too." Carmen Simon ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *B* Oxycise! Questions and Answers ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Question from Doris, in the UK: July 11, 2005 "Hello there, I need some help with Oxycise! as I'm wondering if my experience is unique or if others have gone through the same. "I am about 1 stone (14 lbs) overweight and am 5 ft 3 inches. I have been Oxycising for 5 weeks now. I haven't experienced any weight loss or inch loss but am amazed at the wonderful size effects doing Oxycising daily. My posture has straightened, I have more energy, I have no PMS symptoms (which is a HUGE relief), my sinus problem has cleared up, my digestion and elimination is perfect, I sleep deeper and my complexion looks younger and clearer. My appetite has increased too. Although I am very, very delighted with these results I can't help wondering if I will see any change in my body or weight. I have no problem inhaling and extending my tummy out but do have difficulty with the three extra sniffs. Could that be what's preventing any physical changes happening? Even without any weight or inch loss, I am still choosing to continue to Oxycise! as I've never felt better in my whole life and I'm 42 now. Thanks for your help." Doris Hi Doris, It sounds like you are enjoying some really great benefits from Oxycise! Congratulations!!! Keep up the good work you are already doing and I'm sure you will continue to see additional results. Most likely this will include inch loss and some weight loss too. How much weight you lose will depend on how much excess fat you are carrying. I'll talk more about this a little later! The combination of doing the 3 sniffs along with the "lift" WILL add extra power to your breathing by making your abdominal muscles work harder. But you won't undermine your results if you have not yet mastered this step. It takes time to perfect it. You will automatically get better at doing Oxycise! the more you practice. Do try to be aware of what you are doing on each breath, and constantly try to improve all the little details, for example: Try to take in a little more air on each inhale; Really tighten and scoop your abs (and KEEP things tight) as you do the 3 sniffs, exhale and 3 puffs; Do complete, full exhales (think of totally emptying your lungs) THEN try to do 3 more puffs and feel your abs working (and aching) as you try to squeeze out those last little puffs! (etc.) The more you work toward perfection on every breath the more benefits you will gain. Then you can apply the same method of scrutinizing each body position: striving for perfect form, tightening as many muscles as possible, etc. Many customers have mentioned the same kinds of "first results" that you are feeling and seeing. Lots of people seem to experience "inside" changes before seeing visible changes on the scale or tape measure. We have received many comments from customers who say the first thing they noticed was more energy -- or better sleep. Others say they can feel their bodies changing, and becoming more toned within the first few weeks of doing Oxycise! Some have reported improvements in blood pressure. Over time, people have also reported improvements in cholesterol readings and lower resting heartrates. These are all exciting changes! Oxycise! customers will often report inch loss (or looser clothing) before they see any changes in weight. This is often puzzling and frustrating to them. But it's actually a very good indication that excess fat is being burned, while muscle mass is being maintained or even increased. (The more muscle you have, the better!) It's good to keep track of your progress by measuring for inch loss, and by checking your scales. But don't base your success on the scales alone. Because customers often find that their bodies have changed shape and become much more "tightly packed" without losing as much weight as they originally thought they needed to lose. What matters most is your body composition; in other words, how much of your total body weight is muscle, and how much is fat? Your scale won't give you the answer! To get a good idea, Jill Johnson recommends getting a baseline body fat percentage test done at a local gym or health club, preferably when you begin Oxycise!, and then rechecking it every 4-6 weeks. Customers who have done this have seen their body fat percentage drop even when they didn't see major changes on the scale. This is a great way to boost your motivation and self-confidence when you don't think anything is happening! So DO continue to measure carefully and watch for changes in the way your clothes fit. Please keep in touch and let us hear about your continuing progress! Best Wishes, Julie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Question from Tzu-Yang in California: July 10, 2005 Subject: Oxycise Level Three "Hi, I just received my order of Oxycise Level Three. While Jill demonstrates each position, I notice that she did not open her mouth to do inhales but keep reminding of doing big smile with mouth closed. Is there any change in breathing technique in Level Three? Your response will be appreciated." Regards, Tzu-Yang Hello Tzu-Yang, I'm Julie, assistant to Jill Johnson. The breathing is the same in Level Three as in all other Oxycise! workouts. The main purpose of the "smile" is to open up the nasal passages by stretching the corners of the mouth. You can do the smile with or without showing your teeth. This is an individual choice. It is best to inhale through the nose, since the nose acts as a natural filter and helps warm the air we breathe. But if you have trouble breathing through the nose (due to a sinus infection or other nasal problems) you may wish to breathe in partly through the mouth. Please write back if I can be of additional help! Best Wishes, Julie Oxycise! Staff ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *C* Super Foods! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "When you're thinking 'superfoods,' think color, says Beverly Clevidence, PhD, of the USDA Diet and Human Performance Laboratory. This means foods that are deep blue, purple, red, green or orange. They contain nutrients that enhance good health and protect against heart disease and cancer. They can also improve balance, memory and thinking skills. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Opthalmologist Steven Pratt, MD, has studied healthy diets from all over the world and has found that they share certain common ingredients. He has compiled a list of certain "superfoods" and has seen positive results in his patients who have added these foods to their diets. He is convinced that the nutrients in these foods can help prevent macular degeneration and cataracts, as well as stopping some of the changes that can lead to diabetes, hypertension, Alzheimer's and some cancers. His list of "Superfoods" includes: Beans Blueberries Broccoli Oats Oranges Pumpkin Salmon Soy Spinach Tomatoes Turkey Walnuts Yogurt ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ REMEMBER: You have a magnificent body.
