*A* SEVEN TIPS for STAYING MOTIVATED
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are some expert tips to help you stay motivated for weight loss:
1. Set minigoals and reward yourself when you achieve them. Don't wait until you reach your goal weight.
2. Expect slipups. They happen to everyone. Instead of letting them derail your efforts, learn from them -- and get right back on track.
3. Schedule exercise sessions with a buddy. Try to do it first thing in the morning, before it gets squeezed out of your day.
4. Have an eating plan that is realistic -- both doable and enjoyable. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to sustain over the long haul.
5. Believe in yourself. Have confidence that you will succeed.
6. Make sure your goals are realistic. Strive for goals you know you'll be able to accomplish.
7. Control your environment. Stock your house with nutritious foods, and avoid situations that you know will tempt your resolve.
*B* QUESTIONS and ANSWERS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

QUESTION
How can I come up with a realistic weight goal?

ANSWER
Ideal body weight will be different for everyone, even people of the same height. This is basically due to differences in body composition: how much muscle you have on your body, and the size and mass of your skeletal frame. Muscle is much more dense than fat. So an individual with greater muscle mass (a body builder, for example) will naturally weigh more than someone the same height with less muscle.

Jill Johnson encourages people to find out their body fat percentage before beginning Oxycise! and then re-test at 6-8 week intervals. Most gyms and health clubs have calipers or professional electronic gauges used to measure body fat percentage. If you can get a body fat percentage test done it will give you a much better idea of "where you stand" weight-wise, than relying on your scale alone. Jill's book "Chart Your Success" gives desirable body fat percentages for women of different ages. She also has Height and Weight Charts with weight ranges allowing for small/medium and large skeletal frame size, based on wrist and elbow measurements.

(To order "Chart Your Success" see http://www.oxycise.com/shoppingCart/products.asp?dept=7 )

In some cases we have had customers see positive changes in body composition, even with no changes on the scale! So we feel it's important to keep track of your body fat percentage along with weight and inch loss. NOTE: please do NOT use a body fat scale to determine your body fat percentage. We have found the results to be very inaccurate when compared with results from professional equipment.

Some women are surprised to find that, as they grow older, their body fat percentage has increased--even though their weight has stayed the same! This is normal, since we begin losing muscle mass about age 35. (About 1/2 pound per year, on average). So our bodies will automatically tend to get fatter and less muscled as we age. Exercise and strength training can help combat this, because the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns up, even as you rest or sleep. The opposite is also true: If you lose muscle mass through "starvation" dieting or simply aging, you will GAIN excess fat by eating the same number of calories you used to eat. So working and strengthening muscles is one of the main goals in achieving permanent weight loss.

In summary, if your body fat percentage is in the "Excellent" range for your age, you can rest assured that you have reached a good weight for your body, regardless of what the scale says!

QUESTION
Is it possible to lose fat from just one specific area of the body?

ANSWER
Generally speaking, no -- unless you resort to Liposuction, which we're not recommending.

We get a lot of questions along the line of, "What is the best body position for losing fat on my thighs (or hips, or stomach, etc.) The best answer we know is: "Do lots of Oxycise! and do it consistently and with gusto."

When you begin doing Oxycise! -- or any exercise program -- and start to burn up stored fat, your own body will "decide" where that fat comes from. Some people may notice fat coming off more quickly from areas where they most recently gained extra weight. But most people will lose gradually from all over.

So if you can't take off fat from one particular area, why do we have Oxycise! specialty workouts, in which you are doing extra upper body positions or bun and thigh positions? Because you CAN build and tone the MUSCLES in specific areas. And that will help give a more toned and tight appearance in those specific areas. But best of all, by working and building your muscles -- any muscles, and the more muscles the better --you will be burning more calories, 24 hours a day. And that's what will help burn excess fat -- from wherever your body needs it.

Dear Julie

I have been doing Oxycise! for three weeks although I have only lost 6 pounds, because I was not watching what I ate. I can see and feel the toning of my abdomen and pecs.

I wanted to tell you about something I had not noticed until this week. I am 58, a very active ranch wife but I was having a little problem with leakage, not a lot but often enough to make me wear a pad when riding or tap dancing to make sure I was comfortable. Since doing Oxycise and tightening my abdominal muscles that leakage has quit and I don't feel the need to wear protection. I also told my doctor about your program and she is looking into recommending it to some of her senior patients who need to exercise but have knee or back problems.

I recently bought your book and am working on the cleansing and week one of fuel for success. It is a little more difficult for me because I am married to a Montana cattle rancher and was raised on a ranch. We have always loved salads and veggies, but now I have to rethink my cooking habits and my husband's eating habits, although I am sure it will be good for both of us. Although we raise beef our main meat is venison, elk, and fish. I am working on my own eating habits for the time being and think my husband will also change some of his.

Thank you again for a great program.

(Note from Editor)

Christine,
It's great to hear that Oxycise! has made a positive difference in your life. We have received positive reports from other customers who have seen improved bladder control by strengthening their pelvic floor muscles with Oxycise! Jill recommends doing Kegel exercises along with your other body positions.

Congratulations on your weight loss! 6 lbs in 3 weeks is excellent. In fact, a loss of 1-1/2 to 2 pounds per week is perfect. (There may be some weeks when you lose more or less, but the average loss, over time, should be in this "neighborhood.")

Keep up the great work! And thank you for taking the time to write and share your Oxycise! results! Please keep us posted on your continuing progress.

Hi there,
I've been an Oxycise! devotee for years but have been conscientiously doing it for 7 months--I now incorporate it into a Pilates routine I do on my machine, and I believe the Oxycise! breathing technique has tripled the benefits.

I wanted to tell you that I had some surgery in December, and while prepping me, and the nurse had a special machine to measure my blood-oxygen level--she (and my husband) was surprised when the machine showed my level was 100%. I of course wasn't surprised at all--a month of Oxycise! was all it took to fill my blood with oxygen.

Thanks for your encouraging newsletters and of course for this life-changing program.

Sincerely,
Jo Ann from Seattle
