I cannot keep up that pace though, so I Oxycise! once a day and 3 times a week I add an extra tape, that way I don't burn out. I have a gazelle I use 4 times a week for variety so it keeps the week broken up a bit - but I always do my Oxycise! first. Think we've gone nuts? Read more about it at http://my.webmd.com/content/article/99/105423.htm "For years, savvy dieters have shunned nuts because of their high-fat content. But dieters can rejoice. The heart-healthy fats, high fiber, and phytochemical content of nuts have catapulted these nutritious nuggets into health food heaven. The key is portion control. "Over the past several years, numerous studies have shown the healthful nature of nuts. Nuts are a powerhouse of good nutrition, packed with protein, fiber, monounsaturated fats, vitamin E, folic acid, magnesium, copper, and antioxidants. And they help reduce the risks of heart disease and diabetes and help control weight." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A 1 oz serving of nuts contains between 160 and 200 calories, most of which come from the heart-healthy, monounsaturated fat. The size of a 1 oz serving of nuts also varies depending on the type of nut. That's about 47 shelled pistachios, 30 peanuts, 24 almonds, 20 pecan halves or hazelnuts, and 14 walnut halves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HEALTHY SNACK: Nutty-Butter Apples I love apples! But I'm very picky about their texture; I don't like soft or mushy apples -- they have to be very firm and crisp. I recently discovered a new variety of apple in our grocery store called "Cameo." I've been very pleased with their flavor and texture. Apples are great by themselves, but now and then it's nice to "decorate" them with a little peanut butter on top! Here's a quick and healthy snack I think you and your kids will enjoy.... Ingredients: 1-2 large crisp apples, cored and sliced 2 Tablespoons of peanut butter or other nut-butter (I prefer the natural kind, without hydrogenated oils) * (Optional) 1/8 cup of flaxseeds, freshly ground (Optional) 1-2 tsp. warm honey Mix well, spread on each apple slice. Top with raisins if desired. Enjoy! * About natural peanut butter: Most peanut butter has hydrogenated oil added to keep the product from separating at room temperature. I prefer to avoid hydrogenated oils ("trans fats") so I use "natural" peanut butter. My personal favorite is Adam's brand. A natural peanut butter will have the natural peanut oil floating on the top of the container, so you'll have to stir or mix it before using. The easiest way to do this, I have found, is the dump the entire contents of the jar into a large mixing bowl and then combine it with your electric mixer. It takes less than a minute, whereas stirring by hand takes much longer. Then return the peanut butter to its original jar and store it in the refrigerator -- you won't have to re-mix it as long as you keep it cool. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ REMEMBER: You have a magnificent body.
