OXYCHAT! *************** April 18, 2006 Welcome to the Oxycise! Newsletter, a free publication to help you in your quest for the body you want and deserve! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *A* Oxycise! - Wow! *B* Questions and Answers *C* Sharing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ †I love the Oxycise program! I've been on it for about three months and have noticed significant changes already.†Stacy (April 17, 2006) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *A* Oxycise! – Wow!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here’s an email we received from Melissa in Idaho. April 12, 2006 â€All I can say so far is WOW! I read your article in my favorite magazine last month, visited your web site and others to research some information, and placed my order. I was so excited to get it I asked for rush delivery and picked up the order last Saturday at my local post office. "I'm the co-leader for the local TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) group in my city, so I've been working on healthy habits and weight loss with this group since September of 2005. I've been tracking weight loss and body measurements for a while and had hit a plateau that I needed to break free from. When I picked up my Oxycise! materials I did two things: 1) I read the book from cover to cover and took all my body measurements again before I jumped into the workouts so I'd have a good reference point. It's only been 5 days now and I measured again this morning because I'm introducing the information to our Tops group tomorrow night and I wanted to see if I could report any progress to them. (they've been excited to hear). In just the 5 days I've dropped 7.25 inches! I credit a lot of it to the commuter routine. Most of the losses were only 1/4", which is good by itself. But I have a 50 minute commute each way so I've been doing the commuter routine twice a day and have measured a 1" loss around my rib cage (just under the bust line) and 3.25" around my hips! â€I have a before picture... but I'm not ready for "after" yet. When I am, I'll drop you a line.†Sincere thanks, Melissa In a later email, Melissa adds: “I've been sharing the information with the ladies at work too. One ordered the same set I did today, and another one will be ordering after she gets tomorrow's paycheck. I'll keep in touch and send pictures when I've hit my goal weight. "I've found that the commuter routine works great in the car with my kids. We have fun with it and my 8 year old can't talk when she's doing the breathing exercises!!†~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *B* Questions and Answers ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ QUESTION What is the best way to share Oxycise! with my friends and family? ANSWER You can get together others and do the Oxycise! workouts together. You can share your own experiences and success. You can also share tips and suggestions that have worked for you, but please use Jill Johnson as the "final authority" when it comes to questions about correct technique, body positions, etc. Her instructions on the DVDs and videos should answer most of your questions. You may also be interested in making extra money as an Oxycise! "Ambassador", by ordering products for your friends and family. We have a number of customers who enjoy this program very much. For more information about this please see this webpage: http://www.oxycise.com/AmbassadorProgram.htm or write to Mette at mailto:info@oxycise.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ QUESTION “I just started your program last night with the book. I am waiting for the tape. If you do all of the exercise will you lose everywhere? My husband started your breathing at his work. If you just do the breathing and not the workout, can you still lose inches? Please write me back and let me know. My whole family wants to lose weight and inches. I have girls ages 12 and 17, plus my husband and me.†ANSWER Most people will lose weight evenly from all over. Even if you do exercises that work and strengthen the muscles in certain areas of your body, your own body will still determine where you will lose excess fat first. It’s actually a good idea to do the breathing all by itself when you are first learning Oxycise! The breathing, all by itself, is great for adding extra oxygen and stress relief, and will help tone your abdominal muscles. But for best results with weight loss, you should do the breathing together with the body positions. The more muscles you work, and the more you do Oxycise!, the more calories you will burn and the more you will rev up your metabolism. Oxycise! is a great exercise for people of all ages, including young people. We have received letters from families who are doing Oxycise! together. One family used Oxycise! as their PE class for homeschool! (See http://www.oxycise.com/Success/smiles05.htm ) and on Jill's "Buns and Thighs 2" workout and "Level 4" workout, some of her Jill’s own teenage children are featured doing the workouts along with their Mom.†Best Wishes, Julie Oxycise! Staff ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ QUESTION I did the video workout, and liked it. But what I would like to know is: in order to keep my muscle tone, do I have to continue doing weights, sit ups and push ups? Thanks for your help. ANSWER Hi Debbie, My recommendation is to go ahead and put Oxycise! to the test and see if your muscles feel stronger (or not) after a few weeks. You may decide to combine Oxycise! along with your weights, or to use it exclusively. Jill Johnson has told other customers, "If you like going to the gym, or aerobics class, by all means continue. All types of movement are healthy. But if you are going out of guilt, let go, and focus on Oxycise!" Jill doesn't personally do weight lifting or other exercises. but we do have customers who say they enjoy combining the Oxycise! breathing with weight training other activities. Others do Oxycise! exclusively. Here are some reports from some of our athletic customers: (Success Story #1) "As an ACE certified fitness instructor who has taught up to 9 classes a week for over 12 years, I can tell you that Oxycise! works as well, if not better, than most 'traditional' aerobic workouts. When done properly, the Oxycise! breathing technique forces much more oxygen into the body than jumping around on steps, or floors. HDL cholesterol is the good cholesterol in our bodies, which helps to rid our bodies of the LDL cholesterol. HDL is only increased through aerobic exercise. My HDL cholesterol is now 72, which is very good, and when I was teaching 9 classes/week my HDL was 61. For it to increase by 11 points is incredible, and Oxycise! is the only aerobic exercise I have been doing for the past two years. Oxycise!'s abdominal tightening technique has also healed my "recti-split" that was caused by having two very large babies. I was never able to heal my 'recti-split' with traditional abdominal work. I have also lost 12 pounds and kept it off in these last two years. Oxycise! energizes me much more than all those aerobic classes did and it has also controlled by rheumatoid arthritis. I have not had a bad flare-up since I have been Oxycising. As Julie has stated, 'aerobic' means 'with oxygen' and in order to burn fat a lot of oxygen must be present. In traditional aerobic classes, you don't even start burning fat until about 12 minutes into the workout because you are increasing your oxygen intake at a very slow pace initially. And many people work at a much higher level than they should and end up working anaerobically, thus causing a shortage of oxygen and consequently not burning fat. Good luck to all of you who are making Oxycise! work for you. It can and it will work for everyone IF DONE PROPERLY. "If this program didn't work, I would have gone back to traditional aerobics a long time ago. Doing Oxycise! keeps me in good shape and allows me to be there for my family. They are the most important thing in my life right now and I am glad I don't have to run off to the gym several times a week to work out. This program has been the greatest thing that has happened to me in the way of fitness since 'sliced (whole wheat) bread'..." Sue Madal Photo: http://www.oxycise.com/Success/smiles01.htm#Susan (Success Story #2) "I have been doing Oxycise! for about 2-1/2 weeks now. Being a Personal Trainer, Assistant Manager, and the club Aerobics Coordinator, I stay in pretty good shape. But I quit doing all forms of cardio and weight training at the beginning of March waiting for the Oxycise! program to come in. I wanted to see just how good it worked, so I became my own experiment. "After doing it for just 2-1/2 weeks, I went from 111 lbs to 109, from 25" to 24" waist, from 35" hips to 34- 1/2", and from a 21" thigh to 20-1/2". But even better than all this was having members and one of my fellow trainers notice the difference. She walked by and squeezed my arm and did a double take because of the way it felt. She said, ' What have you been doing? Your arms feel great.' When I told her I hadn't as much as lifted a weight in a month, she almost fell over. It's been little comments like this that have encouraged me and proven that others notice too! "It has also helped me with my hypoglycemia and my energy level. I was diagnosed about 2 months ago and I get terrible shakes and fatigue if I don't eat every 2 hours. I no longer get the shakes every 2 hours. I find that I can go longer before my symptoms begin to surface. This has made a world of difference at my job because I stay so busy. "I'm so excited about this program and just can't wait to share it now that I know FIRST HAND how great it works!" Lisa Arendell Photo: http://www.oxycise.com/Success/smiles03.htm#Lisa ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *C* Sharing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You really CAN succeed with Oxycise! Thanks to Marla for granting permission to share the following letter, and to Lisa Stoll for her thoughtful and inspiring response. March 31, 2006 “Hello. I know you probably get silly questions all the time; unfortunately, here is another one. I had wanted to write to Jill personally, but can't find an address. â€Several years ago, my grandma purchased the Oxycise! book and videos for me. At that point, I had tried so many things to lose weight; I figured it was just one more thing to add to my failure list. I gave it a shot without much motivation and, true to form, dropped the practice rather quickly. Everyone laughed at me for even attempting it. That was about 6 years ago. I'm now a little older, a little wiser (I hope), yet still searching for that "light bulb" moment concerning good health. As someone over 100 pounds overweight, I've seen many diet schemes and unfortunately participated in most even if only for a little while. New things come out almost daily, and "old" things are reinvented and re-established almost as fast. I'm tired of the game. â€I want to believe the hype. It seems obvious that we need food, water, and oxygen. The concepts of Oxycise! make sense, but I am so scared to try to believe in, yet, one more thing. â€I guess, after much digression, that my question is this. Is it worth it? Can it help me? I've read the success stories. I don't see many related to highly overweight people. Fifty pounds of weight loss is exceptional... unless you'll still weigh 200 pounds once the initial 50 is lost. Yes, I am skeptical...and scared. We moved 2 years ago and I've lost my Oxycise! system. I read the article in First magazine and my interest was peeked. I looked for my videos and couldn't find them. Money is always tight...I've spent way too much on diet failures.... is Oxycise! worth my investment again?†Marla “Dear Marla, My name is Lisa Stoll, and I was one of the individuals profiled in the Oxycise! article that was featured in First magazine. Julie Gudmundsen from Oxycise! forwarded your email to me, in the hopes that I might have some words of inspiration for you, and I'm hoping that I do as well. You mentioned in your email that none of the success stories were about highly overweight people - but I think you might have missed my story. When I finally started the Oxycise! program, I was 311 pounds - and I consistently and steadily lost weight while Oxycising and eating less until I got down to 175 pounds. To me, that was hugely dramatic. â€Much like you, I'd tried to lose weight prior to finding Oxycise!, but nothing seemed to stick and the numbers on the scale kept climbing. I had every reason in the world why they all failed, after all, not EVERY plan works for everybody, right? When my mom talked to me about the Oxycise! system, I got defensive instead of grateful for the opportunity to try such a simple program, so it sat on my entertainment center for probably over a year. â€You mentioned in your email that you're still waiting for the "light bulb" moment about good health. That sounds so much like me, it's almost funny. I never thought my weight really bothered me; I was pretty comfortable in my own skin I thought. When I was ready to lose the weight, I would, and the "right" plan would just come to me. I told myself that the only reason I kept failing was because I wasn't really ready. â€Then it clicked with me. It didn't really matter WHAT program I tried, it was that I was believing in my heart that they wouldn't work or that I would fail, which is EXACTLY why I did. The light bulb moment came when I made the choice to BELIEVE IN MYSELF, to believe that if this was something I wanted, that I COULD achieve it. And believe me, EVERYONE laughed when I told them how I was losing the weight. I can't tell you how many times I had to demonstrate the technique just to explain it, and even then, most just laughed and said, "well, if it works for you!" I knew the EXACT date that I would achieve my goal - and people laughed at that, too. They asked how I could possibly know that, and I just said, "Because I will." And I wasn't wrong. The week of my 26th birthday I achieved my initial goal, and I look forward to getting back to that goal weight after giving birth to my second daughter in May. â€I am so grateful that Oxycise! fit into my lifestyle with a new baby and helped me find a great way to achieve my goal. However, the only reason I succeeded this time is because I believed I could do it, no matter what ANYBODY said about it. No matter how much my family loved me, no one thought such a dramatic drop was possible, you could see it in their faces. But it is the BEST feeling to be proud of yourself, and that is ultimately who you're doing this all for. YOU CAN DO IT! And if you choose Oxycise! as the program to help you get there along with a sensible diet plan (I followed the Weight Watchers Point Plan), I know it will do amazing things for you, too. YOU are the light bulb - and if you allow yourself to shine, you'll be in awe of the amazing things you can actually accomplish. â€You can't go wrong with Oxycise!, so I would highly recommend it to you. But whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck. The best advice I ever got was: "Look in the mirror every day and tell yourself that you're beautiful. Then believe you can do ANYTHING that you want to do." You are, and you can. Good luck!†Lisa Stoll ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These Oxycise!
