Don't Give Up!

It's so gratifying when we receive letters from you, our Oxycise! friends, telling of the positive changes you are experiencing. But we also know that many of you go through periods of disappointment from time to time, when it seems like you are not seeing results no matter how hard you are working, or how carefully you are eating! Hang in there! Everyone experiences these lulls or plateaus; in fact they seem to be a normal part of the weight loss process. We encourage you to keep going and keep on breathing, even when the scale seems stuck in one place. The results WILL come as long as you refuse to quit.

We recently received this email from an Oxycise! user:

"I have tried Oxycise three different times, the last time for seven weeks every day but 3, and have not lost an ounce or an inch -infact I gained about a pound and 1/2 inch during that time. I have read the book through several times, and the breathing tips on the computer. Has this happened to others? I am curious as I have read all of the stories of success on the computer and wonder what I can do lose this weight. I would so like to lose about 25 pounds and wondered if you would have any ideas that would help me."

Below is our response:

Many Oxycise! customers report seeing or feeling positive changes within the first few weeks. Often these changes will come in the form of more energy, firmer muscles, better sleep, etc. But some individuals DO go several weeks without seeing obvious results. We realize that it's hard to keep on going when you don't receive immediate rewards for your efforts, but please don't give up!

I believe it probably takes a month or more for new Oxycise! customers to really "put it all together" successfully, learning how to do the breathing correctly, and then putting that together with lots of muscle work and flexing and stretching. It may take a few weeks of practice before your workouts start to become really effective.

ANY deep breathing you do will be beneficial, and any flexing and working and stretching will also be of benefit. But when you are able to really BREATHE and do it with power, and combine that with some pretty intense muscle flexing, then I think you will see and feel a difference.

It's actually normal for your weight to fluctuate up and down by a few pounds from day to day -- and the scale can be misleading. For example, your scale won't tell you the difference between muscle weight and fat or whether you are just retaining fluid (which can happen during a woman's monthly cycle), or whether a small gain of weight is due to increased muscle mass (which can happen after exercising for a period of time), or whether you just ate a big meal. (Do you see the problem?)

For this reason Jill recommends measuring carefully once a week, and monitoring body fat percentage, if at all possible, every 4-6 weeks -- along with daily weigh-ins. By weighing every day you will get used to the normal up and down fluctuations of your scale, and have a better idea when things are really changing in one direction or the other. So if you have excess weight to lose, you do want to see a gradual downward trend over time.

Many customers report inch loss first, and sometimes they will see inch loss without any change in weight. So it's really unusual for us to hear about a gain of inches as you mentioned. I would suggest measuring again in a couple of days and see if you notice a difference.

It's also possible to have variations in measurements due to how tightly you are holding the tape measure, whether you are inhaling or exhaling while measuring, etc. So try to measure exactly the same way.

I encourage you to keep doing Oxycise! faithfully. All of the results you may have read on our website "Success Stories" are real emails from our customers.
