Hello
I had just discovered Body Flex a month ago and saw results the first week. I then found out I was pregnant and I know Body Flex says not to do it when you're pregnant. You say you can do oxycise while you're pregnant. I've got a couple questions about this. #1 What is the reason you can do Oxycise but you can't do Bodyflex? #2 Are there any precautions I should take while doing oxycise while pregnant? Just wanna make sure it's 100% safe.Smile

The biggest reason you can do Oxycise while pregnant is that you don't hold your breath during the workout. There are several posters here who are pregnant, so join us on the daily thread for lots of encouragement!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

We have had a number of women (including Jill) who have used Oxycise! throughout pregnancy with great results. (Please see our "OxyMoms" webpage for testimonials and more information). But we do recommend that you get your doctor's OK first -- just to be on the safe side.

As your tummy gets bigger you need to "listen" to your body and modify or omit any positions that are painful or uncomfortable. The "Easy Does It" workouts would probably be more "user friendly" during the last trimester of pregnancy.

In Oxycise! Levels 1 and 2, Holly is 2 months pregnant. In the Level 3 workout Lori is 6 months pregnant and Jill gives some alternate body positions which Lori demonstrates(laying on her left side rather than her back or tummy) for several positions. Shelley, featured in one of the "Easy Does It" workouts, was just a few days away from her due date at that time.

Feel free to write if you have additional questions.

I just wanted to bump this up again. I'm not pregnant but will be trying soon. In a book I recently read called "Getting Pregnant", it was suggested that only mild to moderate exercise be done while trying to conceive and during pregnancy (no strenous exercise). Oxycise is pretty mild to moderate to me. I saw the posts about levels 1, 2, and 3, but is that all I can and should do? Are B&T 1&2, A&UB, and level 4 too strenous? The only ones I don't own are B&T 2 and level 4. I don't own any of the Easy Does It series either.

Can you answer this, Julie or Jill?

Hi Carol,
Since you are already familiar with Oxycise! I don't think you would have problems with any of the workouts you mention.

Of course there are probably positions in all of the workouts that would have to be modified or omitted as someone gets farther along in their pregnancy.

Any positions that involve laying on your tummy or back would probably be quite uncomfortable as you approach full-term. So you could simply leave them out and repeat a different position, or try laying on your left side as Lori demonstrates in Level 3.

I know that Jill used Oxycise! throughout her 4th pregnancy and said it was her easiest pregnancy. (We didn't have the "Easy Does It" workouts at that time, but Jill was already doing Oxycise! before she became pregnant.)

The "Easy Does It" positions are more basic and the pace is slower, but the workouts can still be done with lots of abdominal tightening and energy. It just depends on how you do the breathing and how much energy you put into the body positions.

For someone who has been doing Oxycise! all along, the regular workouts would probably not be too strenuous. On the other hand, they might be a little too much for someone who is new to Oxycise!

It's always good to use common sense and "listen" to your body so you will know when to work harder and when to back off.

Some doctors might advice not starting a new exercise during pregnancy. It's always a good idea to check with your doctor first.

Hope this helps!
