When I inhale I hold my stomch in. When I take
my 3 sniff I hold my stomch in more. When I exhale and do my 3puffs I'm still holding my stomch in more(It really seems to go in better). When I start all over I let my stomch out for a SECOND Then I start all over. But my mother said it seems I'm doing it wrong so now I haven't done it in 2 days. HELP Thanks Tadey |

Hi Tadey,
I'm having issues with the breathing as well. I had been pushing my stomach out as I exhaled,(especially with the lst 3 puffs) but I don't think that is right. I haven't seen any results in the month I've been doing this so it must be wrong! Hope we get an answer! |

Hi ladies....I'm not good at explaining things, but I'll give it a try.
First of all, relax. Take a deep breath letting it fill up your lungs all the way down to your belly. (you should see your abdomen expand. don't force it out, let it expand naturally). At this point tighten up and do a pelvic tilt. I think Julie sometimes likens it to what you do when you try to zip a tight pair of jeans. Then try to take 3 more sniffs. This will be hard since you're already "full" of air. Keeping everything tight, exhale. (you should see your abdomen going in at this point) Once you think it's all out, do 3 more puffs. Relax everything and start over. Doing this 4 times = a rep. 30 reps = a full O! workout. Review your instructional video or book. Also, be sure to check out the thread in the announcements section of the message board called "breathing tips". |

Tadey,
According to Jill's instructions, if you tighten up your abdominal muscles (or stomach) when you inhale, you won't be able to take in very much air. So instead of tightening up on the inhale, just relax. Don't tighten, don't push -- just breathe in deeply. After that, go ahead and tighten, Lift, and work your muscles. As long as you are taking in plenty of air on the inhale, and trying to get it all out on the exhale, you really can't go wrong. The rest is just a matter of fine-tuning the details and getting more power in your breathing with practice. Happy Breathing! |
