I get seasonal migraines and they lay me out flat for days on end. The pain is dealt with by taking my meds but I am so weak I can't use my arms, and my legs are like jelly.
Does anyone else go thru this? Chronic illness is tough when you are in a fitness program. The best I can come up with is to put my tape on and lie on the couch and do my breathing to the best of my ability. Is there a formula? I do O! once or twice a day Everyday so not doing it makes me feel crumby! * You either get it or you don't * Namaste, Nancy |

After doing a lot of reading I think the key is just so what I can do...if lying on the couch doing the breath with the tape is it then so be it. NOw that the migraine is leaving I realize how lofty a goal it is to want to do Anything when it is active!

Hi Nancy,
Sorry to hear that you are plagued with migraines. Here are some comments from Jill, followed by messages from other customers who say that Oxycise! has helped... Jill: "We haven't done any official research on the effect of Oxycise! on migraines, but we have received letters and comments from people who suffer from them. Deep, diaphragmatic breathing affects the diameter of your blood vessels, your blood pressure, and the work output of your heart. Also, your brain requires an extreme amount of oxygen. So, it makes common sense that learning and incorporating these methods will have a positive effect on your migraines. If you feel one coming on, I would encourage you to immediately start doing the Oxycise! Basic Breath. (P.S. I have had people report that it also got rid of their hangover headaches.)" Martha writes: "Jill, I was so amazed at what happened to me. I had a bad migraine headache and I was seeing the little black dots over my eyes. I thought for sure I would be down in bed for the rest of the day. I didn't want to miss taking my time for Oxycise so I decided to work out. And after a few reps my headache stopped and I could see clear again! I know it was because I was Oxycising! You've got me hooked!" Natalie, Sept 1998: "This is to let you know, that I have suffered from terrible migraines, complete with aura, for several years. Since Oxycising, the migraines have become very short, a matter of minutes instead of days. As soon as I feel an aura coming on, I start Oxycising and the aura disappears almost immediately and I no longer get the after effect of a headache. "I would like to thank you. You have given me what no doctor on this earth has been able to. ... So thanks again, Oxycise is now part of my life!" Vida wrote: "I came across Oxycise! purely by accident doing a search on the internet for something else and decided to give it a try. At that time my energy level was very low and I was suffering from prolonged depression, severe migraines and could not sleep well. I do have some weight to lose as well (roughly 25lb), but that was not my primary objective. "Well to cut a long story short, for the first time in over a decade, I am totally and utterly medication free. I have not had any migraines for over two months..." Lori: Message Room post from 1998 Subject: migraines "I'm 37 and have suffered from migraines since I was in high school. I know many of my "triggers" and I do take a mild muscle relaxant to help ward them off, but I have never been able to completely get rid of them. "I started Oxy the end of April. Losing weight starts one of those "good" cycles, where the more you lose, the better (smarter) you try to eat, the more you lose . . . etc. I don't know if it's because of the 20+ pounds I've lost, the better foods I'm eating, or because of Oxy itself, but I DO know my migraines are occurring far less often and are not as severe as they had been in the months before I started Oxy. "Typically, I was getting a BAD migraine at least every other week, with other bouts of headaches, ones that wouldn't completely go away, on a weekly basis. Today, I can tell you my last "minor" headache was two weeks ago and my last knock-down migraine was the very end of September. For me, that's fantastic! "Like I said--I can't state for certain that Oxy in & of itself gets total credit, but I'm certain it's played a role in improving my overall health, including relief from migraines. "Hope this helps you--my advice would definitley be to try Oxycise. The results probably won't be immediate--mine weren't--but I've gotten results in the long run. Good luck!"
