Hi - I'm new to the message board but not new
to Oxycise. I like the way I feel when I oxycise and I do think this is good for the body but I'm not losing any weight or inches. After I breathe in I lift and scoop my abdomen. On the exhale I really bear down and feel a tightening between the legs and in the buttocks. I did eliminate the sniffs and puffs because I could not inhale and exhale fully and still keep up with the video. I oxycise 5 times a week. What am I doing wrong? |

Hi Lisu, First welcome to the Oxycise board. We would love to have you post with us often!!
I have been trying to figure out what you are describing. When you first take in a breath, be sure your stomach muscles are relaxed. Then tighten your muscles. Jill described it one time as like an elevator or a zipper you are pulling everything in and up. Keep the muscles tight while you exhale. After the exhale it is a quick relaxing of the muscles before beginning the next breath. I really hope that Kirstine will see your question and answer more fully. She is the expert! Don't forget each of our bodies react differently. I do know this works. At times I will lose inches and other times it will be weight. Of course, there are also those weeks where nada - not a thing. But I realize that my body is adjusting and will soon be back to losing. I truly believe that soon you will be seeing the inches and pounds come off. Sharon |

Hi Lisu,
Welcome to the Oxychat Message Boards! The number one problem I see when people are not getting results with Oxycise! is that they are not doing the breathing technique correctly or with enough gusto. Powerful breathing combined with real muscle work will make your workouts most effective. If you're doing the correct breathing, without any other part of the exercise, you should feel your abs contracting and your stomach can't help but flatten as you breathe powerfully. Oxycise! is a great workout and you should feel like your body is working hard while doing it and afterwards. Your muscles need to work as you flex and contract your muscles in every position. The isotonic and isometric exercises combined with the Oxycise! breathing result in an increased metabolism and burn fat. I understand how frustrating it is to not see the results you hope for but don't get discouraged! As Sharon said, every body is different, depending on the diets and other weight loss programs your body has been through, it will react differently I would recommend that you read through the Breathing Tips and review the Introduction DVD as well as the body positions demonstration at the end of the workout. Really focus on breathing powerfully in each position during the workout. You might also try Oxycising! twice a day for a week or so to help jumpstart your metabolism. Everyone loses weight at different rates, and remember that you are making changes from the inside out! The best thing you can do is to stick with it! I know Oxycise! works and you will reach your goals! Also be sure to eat healthy foods and drink lots of water for best results! I hope this helps! Good luck and keep on breathin'! Kirstine Oxycise! Also, regarding the sniffs and puffs...Jill says that even if you get all the air out that it is important to still do the sniffs and puffs because you’re working your abs when you do it. It is the increased oxygen combined with the flexing and contracting of muscles that makes us lose weight... so you should still be getting results without the sniffs and puffs. But the resistance you create when doing the sniffs and puffs will give your abs an extra workout.
