? on the exhale, after the intial big exhale &the next mini exhales, my tummy automically contracts, or moves like an accordion up and down waves 3 x,
Am I doing this correctly? I hope so! I am new to oxycise. thank you for your time, Sara |

It should squeeze in..in..in..
As you get stronger it will go "out" less & less. The goal is in as far as I understand. Sara,
Your tummy should expand (outward) on the inhale, with your abdominal muscles relaxed and the air moving deep into the bottom of your lungs. Don't push it out, just let it move freely. Then on the 3 sniffs, exhale, and 3 puffs, your abdominal muscles should contract in a more inward/upward direction, as Shelby mentioned. (very much like the contraction that happens automatically when you cough). And yes, it could be described as kind of like an accordion, with the muscles compressing inward and upward from beneath the lungs. Just be sure to relax your muscles when you do each big inhale. |
