Hi all. I love reading the posts, although I've never contributed before.
My question is as follows:
I know that the workout can be divided into 3 lots of ten reps, but if I can only do five reps at once (you know...work, kids etc!!) will that be of any use for the program, or are they just good for extra breathing? What about less reps? For instance if I do a rep each time I do a certain thing in the house, do those reps add up to the 30, or not?
Thanks
Sara

Hello,
The way I understand the program is you must do 30 reps a day. It doesn't matter if you do them all at one time or spread them throughout the day as long as the 30 reps are done. When I first started doing O!, I had to seperate it into 3 five minute segments. Hope this has helped.

Thanks for your reply!
I know that I can do O! in 3 5 minute segments, but I wanted to know if I could break it down further, or not.

It is my understanding that you can break down the reps as much as you want or need to--even 1 at a time throughout the day. I do that sometimes. Sometimes when things are crazy, I keep 2 small containers with 30 little coins in one of them in the kitchen. As I do each rep, I pass a coin from one container to the other. That way, I can keep track. Or check marks on a piece of paper. I have also done that to get in extra breaths even though I have done a complete session.

Yes, any breaths you do throughout the day "count" towards the 30 (at least, again, that's the way I understand it.)

PS- Julie will probably have an answer for you, too, but sometimes it takes her a while to see these questions.

I hope you're right, but my gut feeling is that there must be a minumum amount to do in order to get results. I'm sure that any O! is beneficial, but for losing weight and toning, I presume that a certain amount needs to be done together. For instance, one traditional waist bend isn't going to give you a 24" waist, but doing 20 will help more!!
Hope that Julie will chime in!

Sorry to be so pokey about replying!

I think everyone's comments are great. (See, you didn't need me after all!)

Jill has said that whether you do your reps all at once or in "spurts" doesn't matter, as long as you use lots of air and "gusto."

Really BREATHE and work your muscles. Remember to always relax your abs when you inhale so you will be able to take in more air.

And the MORE reps you can do, the better.

Julie - thanks for replying! That's great! I think that I will aim for at least ten reps at once, three times a day, and I'll try to do as many singles as possible during the day as well.
