I have been oxycising since the first week of February- I saw results immediately for the first month- it was great. But after the first four weeks until now- about four months, I seem to have stopped the progress and gained back. I do a tape- all from L1-L4 and the two buns & thighs everyday sometimes twice and I can't get anywhere. I am careful how I eat and have not changed anything else- what can I do?
Thanks, Shari

Shari- Even tough I tought I was "eating well". I wasn't. It took me keeping a food journal to realize how much I was actually putting in my mouth. You might want to try a "diet" like changeone, weightwatchers, or South Beach. Don't give up because there have been times I stayed the same. Have you been measuring yourself?? How much do you want to lose? Sue

Hi Shari!
Welcome to the board! I agree with Sue. I must also document everything I put into my mouth. I use the Change One plan, and that really helped me understand how many calories and what kinds of food I needed so that I could lose lots of weight. I hope you find the combination that works for you!

Thank you for posting- I follow a pretty strict diet- alot of fruits and vegetables and protein- carbs in moderation. I want to lose about 10-12 lbs but more for toning and tightening. I really am baffled because I know my diet is good- should I take a break from oxycise and start again to jump start it?

Hi Shari,
Jill says plateaus are normal, but we know they are also very frustrating.

When Jill was trying to lose weight she says she was very diligent about doing Oxycise! and even so, there were "days and sometimes even weeks" when she didn't see results. Then suddenly things would start to change again. So her advice is to stick with it and be consistent, even when you don't see obvious signs of change.

I would suggest getting a reliable body fat percentage test, if possible. It could be that you have lost excess fat and gained some muscle mass. Your overall weight may not have changed that much, but your body composition easily could have.

Be sure to measure for inch loss too.

Hello to all, I am new to Oxycise. just got my videos, and did the first level today. I have a question. -- do you do the tilt on every breath? saw where you hold it when you do the 3 puffs out. so is this when you let the tilt go and start all over again when you take the breath? i'm thinking this is right, but figured i should find out for sure. thank you

Hi Hanky and welcome! Smile

If I'm understanding your question correctly, the answer is yes and yes. You do the tilt on every breath. Stay loose on the inhale, then do the tilt as you take the 3 extra breaths, the exhale and the 3 puffs. Then relax again as you take your next inhale.

Sounds to me like you're doing great. Smile

Hanky,
It might be easier to think of "Lifting" and tightening your abs on every breath (and yes, you do that right after the inhale).

On most positions you will also do a pelvic tilt along with the "Lift" ... it's basically just the position of your hips, and it helps protect your back. But it's impossible to do the tilt in some positions, like the "Squat" in Level 1, in which you are supposed to stick your rear end out like a "Duck Butt."

The purpose of the "Lifting" and tightening is to create a more powerful exhale and also to tone and exercise your midsection. If you do it correctly you will exercise your entire torso just by doing the breathing.

PS... DO release the LIFT (the tightening of your abs) at the end of the 3 puffs, so your abs are relaxed when you inhale. But you can maintain the pelvic tilt the whole time, if you're doing a position that allows that (Most do.)
